Several of you have asked the status of the Cinema Sound Foley Library Pre-Order, and I appreciate your interest. I also greatly appreciate those of you who have pre-ordered the library, and I thank you for your trust.

The library was supposed to be released before Thanksgiving of last year, but obviously some other products got in the way, including the “Adobe Audition 1-to-3,” “Making Auditions That Get You Cast” and the “Quick Start to 5.1 Mixing.”

The other major development which has put us behind on our production schedule is the massive expansion of the vision and scope of the product. We’ve taken what was going to be a super useful – but reasonably small library – and expanded it in ways we never intended in its original form.

Don’t worry, if you’ve pre-purchased the library, you’ve paid the price in full, but it’s likely the library will be priced around $399 when it’s released due to its newly expanded scope. It’s going to be the quintessential resource and tool for creatives to get their foley needs handled easily inexpensively and have the incredible ability to change foley sounds on the fly without having to re-perform or reprogram a single clip.

Here’s our current list of programs we’re producing for the Foley Library in 96kHz/24 bit Audio clip format, and for the ability to perform the library via MIDI: Sample Tank format, Kontakt format, and depending on demand, Logic Pro EXS 24. Each one of these levels goes for the level above, so there’s a “Footsteps/Male/Dress Shoes/Carpet/Medium” patch which has heel-toe, toe, heel, stops and pickups mapped across the 88-key keyboard as well as a “Footsteps/Female/Heel 2/Wood/Run” with the same mapping.

We will keep the pre-order status available until we release the entire library. At that time the price will jump to its value level.
