Having a single plugin that handles a multitude of problems is great on many levels: less CPU load, one place to find everything you need, ease of use. And until recently, these plugins were relegated to Digital Audio Workstations. These audio combo plugins had all many of Equalization, Compression, Gating, Exciting and more.
Now, these plugins have come the Adobe’s Premiere Pro (via Audition) and Black Magic’s Davinci Resolve. They’re completely different in their implementation, but effective in post production nonetheless.
